Job Title: Industrial Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic - Urgently Hiring! 
Pay: $18-$25+ DOE 
Hours: Day shift  - 40 hrs/wk
Start Date: ASAP!

Locally owned and operated mill located in Roseburg, OR is currently seeking a Industrial Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic. This position offers a great pathway for a long-term career for the right individual! 

As an Industrial Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
  • Performs maintenance, repair or overhaul, removing and replacing components
  • Performs equipment repairs in shop or out on company property
  • Performs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric diagnosis for repairs
  • Operates shop equipment including shop cranes, wheeled crane, welders,torch, compressors, presses, grinders, heavy hand tools, other equipment, man lifts and man baskets
  • Lifts, moves and/or installs heavy parts and assemblies safely, using basic tooling and PPE
  • Troubleshoot diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drive trains, air systems and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and perform repairs on heavy equipment such as loaders, log shovels, forklifts, dozer, water truck, trucks, tractor trailers, pickups and all equipment on site as needed
  • Performs Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or diesel engine maintenance when needed.
  • Assists other equipment mechanics with general shop and equipment maintenance as directed
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, drawings, electrical schematics
  • Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts, such as bearings, pistons, and gears
  • Basic welding/fabrication
  • Collaborate closely with shop foreman and shop supervisor
  • Ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace
  • Tire changes on trailers, log trailers, trucks, pickups, carts, forklifts and pickups
  • Follows departmental lock-out/tag-out procedures and program

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Must provide own personal basic tools and tool box
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license
  • Work 40 hrs a week
  • Overtime if necessary
  • 3 years heavy equipment experience or 3 years diesel mechanic
  • Team player
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs, push and pull
