Job Title:Shipping and Receiving Clerk Urgent Hire
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 DOE
Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00AM - 4:30PM Friday 8:00AM-12:00PM
Start Date: ASAP
 We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for a Temp-Hire position with our client, a highly reputable and long-standing, local company with a World-Wide reach, who prides themselves on supporting life in the face of adverse conditions; And who is dedicated to building the toughest shelter and field support systems on the market, that is located in Eugene, Oregon.
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will play an essential role in the hands on logistics of received items and inventory that is being shipped.  The ideal candidate will maintain an organized and safe environment while actively contributing to the efficient logistics of the warehouse operations.

As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for:
  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers
  • Prepare shipments for delivery; packs items to ensure safe delivery
  • Assist in scheduling of all inbound and outbound deliveries with freight carriers
  • Supports the preparation of the bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct
  • Follow shipping priorities, dates, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet deadlines, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received
  • Physically counts inventory items to verify accuracy on a regular basis
  • Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.
  • Delivers items to requisitioning departments
  • Maintain inventory control, ensuring physical movement aligns with electronic movement by use of computer or scanner technology, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
  • Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

International Shipping experience is required for this position
  • Computer skills and ability to navigate inventory software
  • Inventory/ inventory management experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing ERP systems preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial shipping methods and procedures
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to lift/ move up to 50 pounds of material without assistance. Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance from others.
  • Ability to bend and stand for long periods of time
