Maintenance Tech 1 SWING – Urgently hiring in Salem!

Job Title: Maintenance Tech 1 SWING
Pay: $23/hr
Hours: Monday - Friday (Shifts run between 4pm-4am)
Start Date: ASAP

As a Maintenance Tech 1, you'll play a vital role in managing equipment assets and supporting technical operations. You'll work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot or perform repairs on complex production equipment and systems.

What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Tech 1, you will be responsible for:
• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, including conveyor systems and production machinery, following operation manuals and manufacturer specifications, using hand and power tools, and precision measuring devices.
• Performs scheduled inspections and basic preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and in working condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
• Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and equipment issues promptly.
• Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection reports accurately.
• Assist higher-level technicians with complex repairs and installations.
• Learn and apply new skills through on-the-job training.
• Respond to basic maintenance calls and emergencies as directed.
• Attend company scheduled training classes.
• Comply with company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with production and support departments to ensure food safety and product quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
• 2 years’ experience in a high-speed packaging or similar manufacturing environment.
• Formal training in air conditioning, welding, machining, auto repair, electronics, or industrial mechanics.
• Vocational training or technical certifications accepted in lieu of experience.
• Mechanical Repair, Preventive Maintenance, Equipment Operations, Maintenance Planning, Technical Aptitude, Problem Solving Skills, Detail Orientation, Safety and OSHA Compliance, Dependability, Strong Communication Skills, Teamwork, and Operational Excellence.
