Job Title: Mill Worker Day Shift – Immediate Opening! (Veneta, OR)
Pay: $23.53/hour
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 5:00AM - 1:30PM, with overtime as needed
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a hardworking Mill Worker for a Temp-Hire position to assist with a variety of responsibilities in a Rover role at a local lumber mill in Veneta, OR!
As a Mill Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Move lumber materials around the plant, pulling/stacking/positioning
- Mostly by hand, repetitive gripping involved
- Possibly use forklifts/other equipment
- Operate various wood product processing machines
- Machines include but not limited to: cutting, gluing, shaping, or finishing wood/glulam.
- Assist across all departments
- A Rover position is meant to be flexible and work in departments as needed
- If a machine or work station needs support (sorting, stacking, operating) that's where you go!
- This is a cross-train-and-pitch-in kind of job
- Assisting in other areas of the lumber mill or facility as needed
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- You must have a track record of excellent attendance, reliability, flexibility, and coach-ability
- This facility is located in Veneta, therefore if you live in Eugene, you must know that you will most likely be commuting 30mins there, 30mins home every day.
- This is a physical job, that involves bending, kneeling, stopping and twisting
- 2+ years of work experience in a production experience in a manufacturing facility preferred
- 1+ year of experience in wood manufacturing preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
- Practice consistent and robust safety policies.
- Great aptitude for learning machinery that is used in wood processing and production.
- Previous experience using skill saws, hand, and power tools.
- Can stand, stoop, bend, push and pull for an 8-to-10-hour shift.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. to 75 lbs. on a semi-consistent basis.
- Have great work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.
- Work as part of a diverse team.
