Job Title: Packaging Operator
Pay: $18.00/hour
Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (Rotating 3 days on / 4 days off schedule)
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Join a well-established industrial manufacturing company as a Packaging Operator in Brownsville, OR, and play a critical role in keeping production moving safely and efficiently. As a Packaging Operator, you’ll contribute to production and packaging operations by operating equipment, handling finished products, and ensuring quality standards are met. You will collaborate closely with Shift Leads, maintenance staff, and production teams to guarantee smooth operations throughout your shift.

What You’ll Do:
As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating packaging line equipment, including bagging machines, balers, shrink wrap machines, bag sealers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Performing quality checks to ensure bags are properly sealed and meet production standards.
  • Transporting finished pallets of pellets to designated stacking areas using a forklift.
  • Operating skid steers or front-end loaders to load feed bins as needed.
  • Assisting other production areas as required to support workflow.
  • Supporting Shift Leads with starting and stopping pellet mills and communicating any material or moisture issues.
  • Performing knife maintenance, greasing shavings mills, and changing or sharpening cutting blades.
  • Completing light maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, and reporting equipment issues to maintenance staff.

What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • The ability to lift and maneuver 40–70 lb bags on a regular basis.
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing or production experience.
  • Forklift operation experience (required).
  • Experience with manufacturing monitoring or control systems (preferred).
  • A willingness and ability to learn chainsaw operation.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and safety awareness.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
